Dog Walking  &    dog grooming 

All clients will be deemed to have accepted Walk and Wash's terms and conditions (as laid out here) on signature of the contract.

The client must provide Walk and Wash with the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the pet(s) in an emergency. If the contact is not available Walk and Wash reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and then make a decision which is in the best interests of the animal.

The client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst pets are in the care of Walk and Wash.

Walk and Wash must be alerted to any behavioural problems with their pets at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or cancellation of any future contract.

Although Walk and Wash holds Public Liability insurance, wherever possible, pets should be insured by the client.

Walk and Wash will care for your animal as you would, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, Walk and Wash cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to a pet either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.

All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless prior agreement has been reached with Walk and Wash, and a disclaimer form has been signed.

The walker will apply personal judgment and cut short a walk if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (i.e., heat, thunder storms) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker.

All clients are required to complete and sign the Declaration form. All your data is confidential and will not be shared with any third party.
Please inform me of any changes in your pet's health or temperament or your personal details to allow me to continue to provide a service tailored to your pet's need's.

YOUR PET'S HEALTH AND WELFARE. Whilst your pet is in my care its health and welfare are my primary concern. It will only ever be groomed according to its tolerance of the process. If your pet is fearful of any of the procedures employed during grooming, a workaround or alternative will be employed. Occasionally during grooming a pre-existing condition may be discovered which you may not have been aware of. I will notify you of this so that you can seek veterinary advice. Although extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming. In the event of an accident or serious medical issue arising during your pet's groom you authorise me to seek emergency veterinary treatment.

If you think that your pet has fleas, or you suspect them, or if you know that you have them, Please call us so that we advise you on treatment and re arrange your appointment for you without incurring any late cancellation charges.

GROOM FEEDBACK. You will be given detailed feedback after every groom. If you have any queries or need further clarification, please just ask or contact me at a later stage. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of your pet's groom please let me know before you leave. Reasonable requests to alter the trim will be dealt with immediately or changes noted for the next groom. I am more than happy to disclose any details of your pet's groom or advise you about how best to care for your pet's coat.

PRICING
Starting prices are for pets:
• That are used to being professionally groomed regularly
• Whose coats are well maintained between professional grooms (kept tangle, knot & matt free by regular brushing or combing)

You can reasonably expect to pay more than the starting price for:
• Matted, poorly maintained &/or overgrown coats
• Pets which are difficult to manage or uncooperative during grooming

If I am unable to complete a groom due to behavioural problems or aggression you will be charged the starting price of the groom. All costs are payable in full at the time you collect your pet.

PHOTOGRAPHS. Your pet may be photographed before, during or after its groom. Photographs may be used on the Walk and Wash website or other printed materials. Please let me know if you prefer you pet not to be photographed.

TIME KEEPING. Please be punctual. I work by appointment only; the appointment slot allocated for your pet's groom has been booked at your request exclusively.

CANCELLING YOUR DOG'S APPOINTMENT
I respectfully request 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel your pet's appointment. The slot can then be opened to somebody else.

Any humane de-matting will be undertaken solely at my discretion, in compliance with The Animal Welfare Act 2006 (clause 5 - Animals are to be protected from pain, injury and suffering). De-matting during a routine groom is limited to a maximum of 15 minutes and is only possible if the matting is minimal. For severely matted coats where de-matting isn't possible, the only humane way to deal with this will be to completely shave off the coat.

Removal of the matting may also reveal skin irritations caused by moisture trapped near the pet’s skin allowing mould, fungus or bacteria to grow. Clipping may also reveal embedded grass seeds, which may leave puss-filled holes in you pet’s skin if not removed and treated by your vet. You will be advised on collection what the state of the skin has been found to be.

Any dogs that are aggressive towards a member of our grooming team or another pet may need to be muzzled. It is the owner’s responsibility to inform our grooming team if they do not wish for their pet to be muzzled. Refusal may result in the groom not taking place.

You must inform me prior to grooming if your dog has ever bitten or displayed aggression. Failure to disclose this information may result in refusal of further services.
